Project Noordpier - Collaboration with Jitte Visser

For Jitte's final university photography project, she reached out to JAKA for a special collaboration in relation to the waterproof, feminine blazers. I was very delighted to work with her, since we already knew each other a bit in-person, and the idea of bringing JAKA's waterproof clothes to the seaside felt like a phenomenal idea. She draws inspiration from water as a symbol of strength, resilience, and constant motion. Set at the Noordpier, the sea reflects both the power of nature and inner feminine strength, while the upward movement seen in Iris van Herpen’s work is translated into the styling. Lightweight, upward-moving shapes create a sense of flow and movement in the looks, showing both vulnerability and strength. This is enhanced by the collaboration with JAKA and their waterproof suits, creating a strong contrast between structure and lightness.
